It's an easy nine miles west of the park, so you and your crew can experience adventures close to "home" or head out for the day. For a taste of the beautiful hooded rock formations that the area is famous for, check it out. Off King Creek Trail and Chimney Rock Trail. Ride the trails from inside the campground and see incredible scenery, including the hoodoos we're talking about, as well as the beautiful Tropical Reservoir. As for the reservoir, the camp is right next to it. water is also adjacent to the east branch of the Sever River. Don't forget your swimsuit!

Kings Creek Campground Reviews Updated 2023
We loved our time at King Creek Campground in the Dixie National Forest! The campground is a short drive from Bryce Canyon National Park. It was the perfect base for all our adventures.
We stayed at King Creek for 3 days (Tuesday - Thursday) in early June. Camping is first come, first served and we have many campsites to choose from. Our campsite is spacious and has water pipes, a picnic table and a fire ring. There are few but clean communal bathrooms.
The campground has easy access to trails and dirt roads within the Dixie National Forest. There is also access to Tropical Reservoir, a small lake. You can go hiking, mountain biking, ATV riding, fishing, swimming, and boating.
Kings Creek Campground is not operated and can only be booked outside. (For now!) is working closely with the government to allow immediate bookings here. A nice quiet campsite with large pitch levels and a full wing. The military installation is quiet and has some simple services. Phone signal is weak, but Verizon has two to three bands.

Super nice place, well taken care of...it was hard to find the host at first, but overall 👍 good.
The park itself is beautiful and quiet. The MWR office is another story. Employees are not on the same page. You will get different answers from different employees you talk to. They are against the provisions of the housing policy. I went to the office to pay the last bad bill and got there for 545. The employee was on the phone so I waited. After 5 to 6 minutes he asked how he could help and I said I was there to pay the bill. He told me he closed his banking system and I should come tomorrow and pay my bill. No Wi-Fi unless you find a place near the bathhouse or campsite. Cell service is not very good for verizon and tmobile. The bath and grounds are well maintained. The biggest headache is simply the office.
Great little RV campground. The MWR is managed and well maintained. There are very few empty spaces, but it is quiet, peaceful and relaxing. Will definitely come back to this place. Our communications are in good condition and fully functional. Nice concrete pads are clean and usable for easy leveling and picnic tables.
It is a beautiful, well-organized, camp. Laundry facilities are clean. Our only complaint is that we don't have good internet service and we have three different mobile carriers. There was so much wildlife to photograph that made our camping trip!!
